Youths Unite Their Voices in Favor of Peace
The Creatives4Peace Youth Forum wrapped up in Yaoundé, with creators pressing for funding, mentorships, networks and support Systems to ensure sustainable Impact Over two days, young creators, Generation17 Young Leaders, government representatives and partners examined how Africa's Culture and Creative Industries can drive youth economic empowerment and social cohesion. Key priorities: - Establish accessible, youth-focused financing and support mechanisms for creative initiatives that also advance peace and social cohesion. - Governments to create enabling policies and invest in cultural infrastructure. - The private sector to open markets, provide capital, and build fair partnerships. - Development partners to connect peacebuilding and creative-economy programming rather than treating them as separate agendas. - Regional and continental institutions to strengthen cooperation and exchange. - Young creatives must have a meaningful seat at every table where these conversations take place.
